{"id":231,"date":"2015-04-28T07:15:33","date_gmt":"2015-04-28T14:15:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spriggy.com\/?p=231"},"modified":"2015-04-28T07:15:33","modified_gmt":"2015-04-28T14:15:33","slug":"whole-foods-superfood-salad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spriggy.com\/?p=231","title":{"rendered":"Whole foods SUPERFOOD Salad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes I become obsessed. \u00a0Obsessed in that I can&#8217;t stop thinking about about a new found love. \u00a0Unfortunately, \u00a0too often that is obsession is a beloved food item. \u00a0With my new spring goal of losing the winter weight for swimsuit season, I have been been venturing out and treating myself to my new favorite salad. \u00a0The good thing, is that it is completely healthy. \u00a0The bad news is that Whole Food sells it at $10.99 a pound. \u00a0While it&#8217;s good for my waistband, its not so good for my wallet&#8230;&#8230;especially when you eat it daily upon discovery.<\/p>\n<p>For me, obsession is followed shortly by recreation. \u00a0 \u00a0I spend countless hours to create the same experience at home \u00a0 so that I can have it as much as I want and whenever I want. \u00a0All with the idea of saving money.<\/p>\n<p>While each whole foods has made it different, they all usually have the following ingredients with the tiniest of variance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spriggy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/2015-04-27-21.34.25.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-232\" src=\"https:\/\/spriggy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/2015-04-27-21.34.25.jpg\" alt=\"2015-04-27 21.34.25\" width=\"397\" height=\"397\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spriggy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/2015-04-27-21.34.25.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/spriggy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/2015-04-27-21.34.25-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/spriggy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/2015-04-27-21.34.25-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/spriggy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/2015-04-27-21.34.25-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/spriggy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/2015-04-27-21.34.25-60x60.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 397px) 100vw, 397px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Superfood Salad<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Chopped Kale<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>(be sure to wash with cold water to eliminate possible bitterness of leaves and increase tenderness)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Napa Cabbage<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>(not as prevalent as the kale but this cabbage leads the superfood health spectrum)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Slivered Red Onion, \u00a0Edaname<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Shredded Carrots, \u00a0Blueberries<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Cherry tomatoes, \u00a0Chopped Cashews<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Pomegranates seeds or Gogi berries<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Dressing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">freshly grated ginger<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Acai juice<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">pineapple juice or apple cider vinegar<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>(I prefer the vinegar for brightness)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">salt and pepper to taste<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">What&#8217;s not to love with the entire salad made from SUPERFOODS. \u00a0Enjoy and indulge guiltfree!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes I become obsessed. \u00a0Obsessed in that I can&#8217;t stop thinking about about a new found love. \u00a0Unfortunately, \u00a0too often that is obsession is a beloved food item. \u00a0With my new spring goal of losing the winter weight for swimsuit season, I have been been venturing out and treating myself to my new favorite salad.
